Appeal for witnesses to incident of racial abuse

 

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Cheltenham where two women were racially abused on Saturday 16 June.

The women, aged in their 20s and 50s, were on New Street, near to the junction of Burton Street, when they were racially abused by two unknown men at around 5.50pm.

One of the men was pushing a red pram with a baby boy inside who was aged around one to two-years-old. The man is described as being white, of a slim build, aged around 30-years-old, around 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a grey hooded top and black jeans.

The other man is described as white, of a stocky build, around 5ft 8ins tall, with brown hair and was wearing black jeans and a black top.

At the time of the incident there were people in the street and police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the hate crime or who can help identify the two men involved.

The men separated after the incident and one man walked in the direction of Market Street.
