Extra signs in place for A429 Fossecross junction roadwork

As part of the county council’s commitment to upgrading highways and repairing potholes, resurfacing is being carried out at awell-travelled section of the A429 Fosseway from 19th – 30th June.

Until the 28th June, there is a daytime closure (7.30am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday) from the junction of fields road, north of the Hare and Hounds pub at the Fossecross junction.

Due to the high volume of traffic along the road and to ensure that there is no confusion, additional signs have now been put in place to highlight to road users that the road is currently closed and alternative routes must be used.

A diversion route suitable for heavy vehicles is signposted: north from Fossecross on the A429, turn left onto the A40 at Northleach then left onto the A436 at Shipton. Continue past Ullenwood, then turn left onto the A417 heading south towards Cirencester, then join the A429 north, and vice versa.

Shorter local routes will be available for the majority of traffic.
