Man arrested in connection with assault on woman in Tewkesbury

 

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a woman in Tewkesbury in November.

The incident happened near the taxi rank in Tewkesbury High Street at around 1.40am on Sunday 20 November.

The 37-year-old victim was on a night out when there was an an argument between her husband and a stranger. When the woman stepped in between the two men the stranger punched her in the face. He then walked away with two other men.

The victim was left with three fractures to her left eye socket and related bruising and swelling.

Earlier this month police issued CCTV of three men they wanted to talk in connection with the incident.

Following calls from the public all three men have been identified and a 25-year-old Gloucester man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been bailed to return to police on 23 March 2017 pending further inquiries.
