Midcounties Co-operative Ltd to challenge Aldi planning permission

 

Midcounties Co-operative Ltd has been given the go ahead to challenge the Council’s decision to grant permission for an Aldi store in Coleford. 

The Council received notification that Midcounties Co-operative has been given permission to judicially review the planning decision for the erection of a class A1 food store at Land at Tufthorn Avenue, Coleford following a court hearing on 14 March.  The Judicial Review hearing will take place on Tuesday 20 June.  The court location will be confirmed at a later date.

The decision came at the same time as the Council received notification that Midcounties Co-operative had also been given the go ahead to challenge the decision to grant planning permission for a retail store at Steam Mills, Cinderford.

Leader of the District Council, Patrick Molyneux said: “We are obviously disappointed that Midcounties Co-operative has decided to challenge the permissions, but we remain confident with the decisions made and will continue to robustly defend our position.”
