Pedestrian injured in collision in Stroud


A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was involved in a collision in Stroud on Thursday.

The collision happened in Cornhill at about 2.35pm and involved a Mitsubishi Shogun and the pedestrian, a 68-year-old man, who remains in hospital with a serious head injury.

A 43-year-old man has been interviewed in connection with the collision and further enquiries are ongoing.

Officers would like to thank members of the public who stopped and helped at the scene yesterday, providing the casualty with coats and blankets to keep him warm until paramedics arrived.  Some of the coats are still at the police station awaiting collection.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or who saw either the car or the pedestrian before the collision occurred.
