Police launch murder investigation in Cheltenham

 

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died following a serious assault in Cheltenham on Saturday night.

A man aged in his twenties was taken to Southmead Hospital after being assaulted at around 10pm in Lower High Street, Cheltenham.

He suffered serious injuries and died yesterday evening (Sunday). The man’s next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody at this time. Their details are:

A 21-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, all from Cheltenham, and a 31-year-old man of no fixed abode have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the attack.

Cordons will remain in place at locations linked to the investigation while police enquiries continue.
