Witness appeal after attempted robbery in Cheltenham

 

Cheltenham officers are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery during the early hours of this morning.

The 38-year-old victim was walking along St George’s Street in Cheltenham at around 1am when the incident happened.

He was approached from behind by an unknown offender and following an altercation he sustained injuries to his hands. The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he is being treated for what are believed to be slash wounds caused by a knife.

The offender is described as white, aged late 20s, around 5ft 7ins tall and of a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing with his hood up and a scarf around his face.

Nothing was taken from the victim during the incident.
