A 18-year-old man from Cheltenham has been arrested in connection with two robberies in Cheltenham yesterday.
The teenager was arrested in Cheltenham a short while ago by officers and he is now in custody.
Police had issued appeals relating to two linked robberies where the suspect had a hammer and entered shops.
The first happened in a shop on Hester’s Way Road at around 6.15am where a man smashed the till and took a quantity of money.
The other happened on Winchcombe Street shortly after 1pm where cabinets were smashed and items were stolen. The suspect had fled in a van which mounted the pavement and narrowly missed a number of people as it drove off.
Enquiries have been ongoing to locate the suspect and an arrest was made around 11.20am today (Wednesday 16 August).
Police would still like to speak to anybody who may have information or footage in relation to either incident.
