Bird-proof bins that are also built for stubbing out cigarettes are on their way to the city.
Gloucester City Council is removing all 46 existing bins within the city centre and replacing them with a new model.
At the moment, troche there are seven different types of bin within the Gate streets.
Some don’t have covers so birds can get inside and take out the rubbish, viagra order which often then gets discarded on the streets.
Others don’t have stubbers for cigarettes so smokers end up putting their cigarette ends on top of the bin, tadalafil causing a litter problem itself.
Now the new model, which will replace all seven existing models, will include a cigarette stubber and a cover, which prevents birds from getting at the rubbish inside.
The move is aimed at keeping the city centre free of litter and attractive for shoppers and visitors who come here.
Work is due to start within the next few weeks on removing the existing bins and replacing them with the better bins.
Cllr Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “This is just another step on our journey to improving the city centre.
“Rubbish strewn around and cigarette ends on the floor or bins is ugly and doesn’t help us make the best of our great city for residents, shoppers or visitors.
“When work starts on replacing the bins I am sure that people will soon see the difference they make.”
