Officers from the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Team tackled a car fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to Dyer Street in Cirencester at around 1.30pm with a report of a car on fire.
They used extinguishers from their vehicles, and then used ones which were kindly provided by several local businesses.
The team of officers managed to get the fire under control and then colleagues from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended to fully extinguish it.
Police have thanked the local businesses that helped by providing their extinguishers as officers tried to stop the fire from causing damage to nearby buildings and other vehicles. No-one was injured.
