William Hill have had their Festival rocked by a pair of monster winning ante-post bets. One punter placed two separate four-folds ante-post, both of which copped when Wodhooh stayed on dourly to win the Mares’ Hurdle.
The first bet kicked off with Kargese in the Arkle (7/1), Lossiemouth in the Champion Hurdle (13/2) and Il Etait Temps in the Champion Chase (8/1), before the Elliott mare obliged at 7/4. The second acca also started with Kargese in the Arkle (6/1) and Lossiemouth in the Champion Hurdle (3/1), before King Rasko Grey at 20s and Wodhooh at 6/4 both landed.
From a £20 stake, the first bet returned £29,700, and from a £20 stake too, the second bet returned a £29,400. In total, the customer took home £59,100.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “After enjoying such a good Cheltenham yesterday, we’ve been brought back down to earth with a thud by a pair of big Festival winners from the same punter. The shrewd bettor placed a pair of £20 ante-post four-folds which both hinged on Wodhooh in the Mares’ Hurdle.
“The Elliott mare duly obliged and landed a four-fold duo which is surely the stuff of Cheltenham ante-post punting dreams. We have to take our hats off to this punter, and accept that they’ve pulled off a right touch with these two bets.”
