An event for the community of Barton and Tredworth to discuss issues in the area is being held at St James’ Church in Upton Street between 6pm and 8pm tomorrow evening.
The event, which has been organised by the Community Legitimacy Panel, follows the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Ramarni Crosby in the city last week. Three boys have been charged with his murder.
Residents will have the chance to raise concerns and find support from a variety of agencies at the event tomorrow.
It is being supported by Gloucestershire Constabulary and an officer will be on hand to speak to members of the public about any issues they may have.
It follows another event being held in Gloucester Park tonigh between 6pm and 8pm. During this event, which is organised by Put the Knives Down Gloucester, knife surrender bins will be available to safely receive the weapons, which will then be taken away and destroyed.
The bins will remain available in the reception areas of Barton Street and Bearland police stations.
A recent knife surrender across the county following the conviction of a boy for the fatal stabbing of Dursley teenager Joshua Hall saw over 300 knives handed in.
