Dobbies Garden Centres is spreading festive cheer in Tewkesbury this season with a new community campaign offering free Christmas trees to local schools and nurseries.
Launched in partnership with tree supplier Needlefresh, the Dobbies Community Christmas Tree initiative will see more than 220 real trees donated to schools and nurseries across the UK, including those near the Tewkesbury store.
The campaign began on Thursday as part of Dobbies’ Christmas Launch Weekend (9–13 October), giving customers a first look at this year’s festive collections and exclusive in-store offers.
Local schools and nurseries within 20 miles of the Tewkesbury store are invited to apply for a free Christmas tree before Thursday 6 November at 5pm. Successful applicants will be chosen by the Dobbies team and notified by mid-November, ready to collect their trees later that month.
Nigel Lawton, Dobbies’ Plant Buyer, said the initiative aims to share the joy of a real tree with children and local families: “Our campaign is a great opportunity to spread festive joy with local schools and nurseries, showing children the magic a real Christmas tree can bring. We can’t wait to see how they decorate them.”
Dobbies’ trees are sustainably grown in Scotland, where each Nordmann Fir is hand-planted and harvested in environmentally managed fields to protect local wildlife and habitats.
