New electric buses are now in service on several routes in Gloucester and Tewkesbury, offering passengers cleaner and quieter journeys.
Transport operator Stagecoach West has introduced fully electric buses on services 1, 2 and 2A in Gloucester and service 71 in Tewkesbury, marking a major step towards greener public transport in the area.
To celebrate the launch, members of the public are being invited to step onboard and explore the new buses at two community events.
In Gloucester, the event will take place at Kings Walk Square on 1 April from 10am to 4pm, where visitors can look around the buses, meet the Stagecoach team and take part in activities including a prize wheel.
A second event will be held in Tewkesbury on 8 April, outside Boots on the High Street, also from 10am to 4pm. Visitors will be able to hop onboard the new electric bus running on service 71 and speak to staff about greener travel.
Chris Hanson, managing director of Stagecoach West, said the introduction of electric buses was an important milestone.
