Fox hunting figures spark concern

The League Against Cruel Sports says new data shows continued fox hunting activity across the South West.

Figures suggest 234 foxes were chased in the region during the latest season, accounting for more than half of the total recorded across England and Wales.

Gloucestershire recorded the highest number of incidents, followed by Dorset, Somerset and Devon.

The charity also reported hundreds of incidents involving alleged anti-social behaviour linked to hunts.

The figures come as the government runs a consultation on a potential ban on trail hunting, with campaigners calling for tighter legislation.
