Gloucester’s nightlife is set for a major boost as the city’s largest nightclub prepares to reopen under new ownership.
Monkey Bar Events have announced they are the proud new owners of 141 Eastgate Street, the former site of Liquid, Atik and Trilogy, venues that have been at the heart of the city’s nightlife for decades.
In a post shared on social media, the company said they had “big plans” to bring “good times back to Gloucester,” promising more information soon.
The news comes after the club closed suddenly earlier this year, leaving many wondering what would become of the popular venue.
Gloucester MP Alex McIntyre welcomed the announcement, calling it a positive step for the city’s hospitality and entertainment scene.
“It’s great to see a new owner taking over at the former Liquid, Atik, Trilogy nightclub on Eastgate Street,” he said.
“Gloucester’s nightlife and hospitality sector are an important part of our local economy, and it’s encouraging to see new investment and energy in the city centre.”
He added that alongside the refurbishment of Butlers Bar103, also on Eastgate Street, there were “positive signs” of renewed growth and activity in the area.
“I wish the team at Monkey Bar Events every success,” Mr McIntyre said. “I wonder whether the new owners will stick with the Trilogy name or take inspiration from the past.”
Further details about the relaunch — including the new name, opening date, and event plans — are expected to be revealed soon.
