Gloucestershire College is delighted to officially open its new Engineering Centre at Gloucester Campus on Monday 16 November and is inviting the county’s leading engineering companies to get the first glimpse of the impressive new facilities.
The College was awarded a £800k grant by GFirst LEP to create three first-class STEMBED Centres at its Cheltenham, tadalafil Gloucester and Forest of Dean campuses. In addition, see it invested £800k of its own funds into the innovative project, viagra sale which aims to benefit thousands of GC students and county schoolchildren; meet current and future skills needs; and support local growth industries and sectors including engineering, computing, construction, maths and science.
The Gloucester Engineering Centre focuses on engineering, science, computing, construction and maths. During the summer the College carried out extensive upgrades to its mechanical and electronics labs, and teaching facilities; created a new CNC centre; and installed new mechatronic equipment, including pneumatic, electro pneumatic and PLC training systems with distribution and handling stations.
Principal Matthew Burgess, Head of Engineering Brian Fowler, and a representative of GFirst will welcome guests to the new centre, before the ribbon is cut to mark the official opening and guests get the first tour of the new facilities, guided by engineering staff and students.
Head of Engineering, Brian Fowler, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the new Engineering Centre in Gloucester, which will enable us to further develop higher level engineering courses in partnership with local employers, our new engineering degree programme, and both higher and trailblazer apprenticeships. We help businesses recruit and train the next generation of engineers and look forward to the opportunity to show them around our new facilities.”
