A housebuilder behind the Winnycroft development in Matson has donated more than £80,000 to local charities in 2024.
Each year Barratt David Wilson Homes South West provides funding for charities and organisations across the region as part of its commitment to create positive legacies in the communities where it builds. Over the last 12 months the housebuilder has donated £80,877 to local concerns.
Rugby for Heroes in Cheltenham was just one charity to have benefitted. Through rugby it supports servicemen and women as they transition from military service to civilian life. Its various initiatives and programs, including sporting events and community outreach, helps provide assistance and resources to veterans during a critical phase of their lives.
Alan Lamb, the charity’s founder and head of fundraising, said: “As times grow increasingly challenging with rising prices affecting everyone, every penny donated is invaluable and greatly appreciated by Rugby for Heroes. Our organisation is wholly dependent on public support so we can continue with our essential work with every contribution having a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served. The donation reflected Barratt David Wilson Homes South West’s commitment to give back to the community and assist those who have served our country.”
Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, added: “We’re proud to have supported so many incredible charities including Rugby for Heroes and other community groups over the past 12 months that work tirelessly to improve the lives of those in need. Their dedication and impact are truly inspiring, and we’re delighted that our donations have played a part in helping them reach even more people. As we look to 2025, we remain committed to making a positive difference in our communities and continuing our support for these vital organisations.”
Every month, each Barratt David Wilson Homes division can donate £1,500 to a local concern that works to improve the quality of life for those living in their area.
