An archive of signed letters, notes and gifts from J.K. Rowling to a young Harry Potter fan has sold for £9,150.
The six-piece collection was auctioned by Dominic Winter Auctioneers on June 18.
The items were sent in 2001 to Stephanie Whitbread, a devoted Harry Potter fan who was living with Juvenile Batten disease.
The archive included two signed letters on Rowling’s “Owl Post” headed paper, a signed notecard and a promotional CD linked to the first Harry Potter film.
Auctioneers said there was strong international interest, with the winning bidder a private collector in London.
Dominic Winter director Chris Albury said the letters showed Rowling’s warmth and generosity towards a young reader and her family.
