A well-known Gloucester bakery and café chain has been sold after more than 50 years in family ownership — but its new owner has promised continuity for customers and staff.
Tuffley-based Janes Pantry, founded in 1971, has been acquired by Percy’s Baking (UK) Ltd following the retirement of long-serving boss Neville Morse and his wife Tania.
The business, which employs over 100 people, runs 11 outlets across Gloucester and Cheltenham and also supplies workplaces across the county with a fleet of delivery vans.
In a statement, company accountant Amy Morse confirmed all products will continue to be baked at Janes Pantry’s Gloucester bakery and there will be no changes to staffing.
“It is very much business as usual,” she said. “Customers can still expect the same fresh, high-quality baked goods they know and love. The skills and experience of our team are highly valued, and no jobs are at risk.”
She added Percy’s was “proud to continue Neville and Tania’s legacy while also investing in the future of the brand”.
