Local hospice charity, pharmacy Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court, shop is seeking community fundraising volunteers from right across Gloucestershire to get involved and help it raise the £1.6 million it needs every year to provide care for local families.
The hospice has created some brand new volunteer roles including fundraising collection volunteers and collection tin coordinators, for anyone who can join them to help.
Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to become a Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Community fundraising volunteer wherever they live across Gloucestershire, no matter how many hours they can volunteer.
Each of the roles are flexible and fulfilling.
Fundraising collection volunteers will help with collections in stores in and around Gloucestershire and help the local charity to seek opportunities to promote the hospice and the incredible work it does. There is a particular need for this in Gloucester and Cirencester.
The role of collection tin coordinator will help with the distribution of collection tins in a given area – a vital stream of income for the hospice.
There is also a vacancy for a fundraising administrator working alongside the team based at the hospice assisting with research, handling donations and general admin duties around events and projects. The volunteer must be able to commit to a weekday within office hours on a weekly basis working at the Cheltenham-based hospice.
Mike Tague, Head of Hospice Fundraising at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice said, “We can only raise the money needed to carry on providing care for local families at a time they need it most with the support of the very communities we care for.”
“We have an incredibly loyal and hardworking army of volunteers but we need more volunteers in local communities right across the county if we are to raise the £1.6 million needed every year to help run our inpatient unit, day hospice and hospice at home services.”

No matter how many hours you have to offer and no matter where you live, from Gloucester to Cheltenham, from Stroud to Cirencester or from the Forest of Dean to Tewkesbury or anywhere in between you can get involved and help support our work, right in the heart of your local community.”
