A man has been remanded in custody after appearing at court charged with the rape of an elderly woman in her own home in Gloucester last week.
Brady Hickman, 32 and from Gloucester, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.
The charges relate to the early hours of last Thursday, when police received a call after an elderly victim activated her Lifeline personal alarm.
Hickman was remanded until 17 December, when a plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled to take place at Gloucester Crown Court.
Hickman was the subject of a wanted appeal over the weekend and was arrested in Stroud on Sunday after members of the public called officers.
