A man in his twenties has died and a second man is in hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash on the B4425 between Aldsworth and Burford.
Emergency services were called at about 10pm on Tuesday (25 November) to reports that a Mercedes-Benz SLK had left the road. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, the driver — from West Oxfordshire — was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains for treatment.
The road was closed overnight to allow collision investigators to work, reopening at around 11am on Wednesday after the vehicle was recovered.
Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was travelling on the B4425 between 9pm and 10pm, or who may have dashcam footage. Information can be submitted online quoting incident 493 of 25 November.
