Man injured in Yorkley assault

 

A man suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted in Yorkley earlier this month and police are appealing for witnesses to help them establish what happened.

At about 5.30pm on Thursday 4 October the 40-year-old man became involved in an argument with two younger men outside Select and Save in Bailey Hill.

A fourth man arrived in a black car and assaulted the 40-year-old with a weapon which has been described as a “truncheon”.

The injured man sought medical help the following day and received treatment for injuries to his head, back and groin area.

The incident was reported to Gloucestershire Constabulary on Monday 8 October.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
