“Pitbull type” dog bites man’s finger in Tewkesbury – appeal to trace dog owner


Gloucestershire Constabulary would like to speak to a woman whose dog attacked a 17-year-old male and his dog on Sunday.

The incident took place near the River Swilgate in Tewkesbury and left the male victim with severe damage to a finger.

The 17-year-old victim was sat on a seat near the river with his girlfriend and German shepherd when the woman appeared behind them at a kissing gate; her dog then approached the German shepherd before attacking it.

The teen tried to get the woman’s dog off and this is when he was bitten. The female owner then walked off before the victim could get her details.

The owner of the attacking dog is described as a white woman between the ages of 50 and 60; around 5ft 5 inches tall with brown/blonde hair and was wearing a green raincoat.

Her dog is described as being a muscular brown short haired Pitbull looking breed.
