Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a serious assault on another man in Cheltenham earlier this week.
Detectives would like to speak to 44-year-old James Benson, known as Jamie, in connection with an incident which took place near Winston Churchill memorial gardens and the Honeybourne Line at around 5.30pm on Wednesday 19 August.
Benson, who is of no fixed abode but has links to Cheltenham, is described as being 6ft tall, of a medium build and with black hair.
Detective Sergeant Jon Youdan from the Criminal Investigation Department said: “Officers have been pursuing numerous lines of enquiry to find Benson and would now like to appeal to the public for help.
“I would urge anyone who knows of Benson’s whereabouts, or any member of the public who sees him, not to approach him but to call police on 999 immediately.
“I also appeal directly to James Benson and urge him to do the right thing and hand himself in at his nearest police station.
“Anyone who knows where Benson is, or sees him, is asked to call 999 and quote reference 53260071857.
