Royal International Air Tattoo to leave RAF Fairford

The Royal International Air Tattoo is relocating from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire to MOD Boscombe Down in Wiltshire from 2027.

Organisers Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises say the move will secure the long-term future of the world’s largest military airshow and provide opportunities for expansion.

RAF Fairford has hosted the event for more than four decades, with organisers paying tribute to the base, the United States Air Force and the local community for their support.

Despite the relocation, the organisation’s headquarters will remain in Fairford.

The event raises money for the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, which supports aviation, space and technology education for young people.

Further details about the 2027 event will be announced in the coming months.
