Stroud Arts Festival is marking its 80th anniversary with a year-long celebration of culture and creativity.
Founded in 1946, the festival is one of the UK’s longest-running arts events and continues to play a key role in the town’s cultural life.
This year’s programme features music, theatre, dance, art and poetry, with performances from both international and local artists.
Events begin in May with outdoor shows, including a dragon-themed performance through Stroud High Street and a family-friendly King Arthur production.
Organisers say the anniversary programme reflects both the festival’s heritage and its future, with community events and new commissions planned throughout the year.
The celebrations will continue into December, ending with a festive production of A Christmas Carol.
