A woman has been arrested in connection with the incident however officers are continuing to search for two males who are believed to have been involved.
Police were called shortly after 8.50am today with a report of an altercation on Chalford Road, near to St Peter’s High School.
It was reported that two males, one who was in possession of a sword, had been seen chasing two boys.
The suspects then fled from the scene on foot.
One male was described as being white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, of a medium to large build, is around 6ft in height and was wearing white sliders.
The other male was also described as being white, around 5ft 5ins tall and of a skinny build and was wearing black clothing.
One of the victims, a boy aged 17, sustained a superficial wound believed to have been caused by the sword. Earlier on police had said he was taken to hospital, however this was not correct.
A second victim, also a 17-year-old boy, did not sustain any physical injuries.
Footage circulating on social media shows to males dressed in black with one carrying a large sword.
Police later stopped a vehicle and arrested a woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. She remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Sophie Dawkins from the Constabulary’s Criminal Investigation Department said: “We completely understand the concern this incident would have caused, especially when it happened near a school at drop off time.
“We’ve had armed officers searching the area, along with support from our drone unit and the National Police Air Service, and work is ongoing to identify and locate those involved.
“Numerous enquiries have been taking place and officers from the neighbourhood team have been in the area throughout the day to reassure parents that there is not thought to be a wider threat.
“We are now keen to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police who witnessed what happened or who has dashcam or any other footage.”
