Three days of fundraising, racing and remembrance at The November Meeting

The middle weekend of November signifies the three days of racing action from Cheltenham, The November Meeting and this year’s fixture looks set to be as jammed packed with top quality racing and many other additional activities for racegoers to enjoy.

The three days commence with a longstanding Cheltenham tradition, Countryside Day, where funds are raised for the Countryside Alliance as well as this year’s nominated charity Racing Welfare. There will be enjoyable countryside – themed activities taking place before and during the racing, with local hunts parading on the course after the second race.

Saturday is BetVictor Gold Cup Day, where one of the most competitive races of Cheltenham’s autumn season features on the card, the BetVictor Gold Cup. Last year’s hero was Splash Of Ginge, trained locally by Nigel Twiston-Davies and along with six other competitive races that day, it is sure to provide racegoers with some of the best Jump racing action in the UK this side of Christmas.

This year, the third and final day of the fixture is set to be extra special, as Gloucestershire and Racing Remember 100 years since the end of World War One. There will be a number of activities taking place alongside the racing including a Royal Gloucestershire Hussars mounted contingent in the Parade Ring, an ariel combat display before racing and a March Past from various members of the armed services including Glosters, Cadetrs and Glos Hussars. Alongside all the activity there will be a number of interesting and engaging displays in The Centaur about how Cheltenham and the county was involved in World War One. A truly fitting memorial for such a historical moment in British history.

The Sunday is also family Day at Cheltenham, so there will be plenty of free entertainment for the kids, including appearances from Peppa Pig during the day. The perfect excuse for a family day out, especially as kids under 18 receive free entry!

The Final Flight Bar will once again be in action on the Friday and Saturday of The November Meeting offering those in the Club Enclosure and Cheltenham’s Annual Members live music from ‘Tommy and the Fuse’ after racing both evenings. Admission for The Final Flight Bar starts from £15 (Fri) £20 (Sat) when booked in advance (*The Final Flight package).

Alongside a fantastic day of racing Cheltenham has a number of bars and restaurants to suit all palettes, throughout the day. The November Meeting also hosts the fabulous Shopping Village for racegoers to start that Christmas Shopping. Exhibitors include the likes of the stylish shoe brand Fairfax & Favor, the customisable Will Bees bespoke and the adventurous Bredon Hill Shooting, for outdoor and country clothing.
