Warm tributes have been paid to county councillor Norman Stephens who died suddenly on Sunday.
Cllr Stephens had been involved in local politics for over 25 years and represented Mitcheldean on Gloucestershire County Council since last May.
He was an independent councillor who was well-known for his love and passion for the area he represented.
The 63-year-old was elected to Forest of Dean District Council in 1987. He had been in the role of vice-chairman and was also a former chairman.
Leader of Gloucestershire County Council Cllr Mark Hawthorne said: “I know many county councillors, cheap cialis myself included, have been genuinely shocked and deeply saddened at Norman’s death.
“He was a straightforward, principled man who served his local community extremely well for many years. My thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Leader of the county council Labour group, Cllr Lesley Williams said: “I served with Norman on the home to school transport appeals team. I always found him fair in his approach and I got to know him well. He was very passionate about the area and the people he represented and a lot of people will miss him very much.”
Cllr Jeremy Hilton, leader of the Liberal Democrats said: “I knew him from when he joined the county council last year and was very sad to hear about his death. He was a very pleasant, hard-working man and I remember talking to him on a visit to a dairy farm in the Forest and his passion for the area really shone through.”
UKIP councillor Richard Leppington said: “I always found him very approachable and was always ready and willing to help people. He was also vastly experienced and he helped me a lot personally. He had a great sense of humour and during the last meeting we were in together, his interaction with the chairman made me smile.”
