Police are appealing for information and footage following reports of motorbikes and scooters being ridden dangerously in the Abbeydale area of Gloucester.

It was reported that a moped and a Sur-Ron electric bike were being ridden along the pavement and across playing fields in the area of Lobleys Drive at around 8.30pm on Monday (29 July).

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing team conducted enquiries in the area after receiving the reports and detained a teenage boy who was riding pillion on the moped.

A 17-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft of a motorbike and public order offences. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

A number of people were in the area at the time and investigating officers are now asking anyone who saw the bikes being ridden or has information on the riders to come forward.

The bikes and riders are described as follows:

  • A blue and white moped being ridden by two people in black tracksuits and balaclavas
  • A black electric Sur-Ron being ridden by one person wearing a lighter, maybe grey tracksuit, and a balaclava

Anyone with dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage is also asked to make contact.
