Well-known historians and authors will be taking part in a celebration of Cheltenham’s history during a series of events at John Lewis this May.
A Talk Through Cheltenham will feature five speakers, including much loved local historians David Elder and Neela Mann on a range of subjects from Cheltenham: a secret A-Z to the history of the Lower High Street.
Other speakers include Holst Victorian House curator Laura Kinnear, Cheltenham Promenders tour guide Phil Collins and author of Taking the Waters, Lesley Sainty. They will reveal fascinating facts and stories about Cheltenham which are less known or lie hidden beneath the surface.

Cheltenham’s history is often overlooked for lots of reasons but here we have a varied but expert line-up of speakers to really engage and enthral. I’m really looking forward to it!’
The A Talk Through Cheltenham event will be in the Place To Eat cafe in John Lewis on various dates throughout May. The ticket price is £6.50 and includes a hot drink and cake.
