Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which took place on the B4077 near Toddington this morning.

Emergency services were called shortly before 7am with a report of a three-vehicle collision at the crossroads with the B4078.

The collision, which involved a silver Ford Fiesta, black Ford Kuga and blue Seat Ibiza, took place close to the Orchard Industrial Estate.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a man in his 40s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries and the driver of the Seat Ibiza, a man also in his 40s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Kuga, a man in his 50s, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be serious.

Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police or who has dashcam footage of what happened.

Road closures in the area are expected to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to find alternative routes.
