Members from The Gym on Bristol Road in Gloucester attempted to set a Guinness World Record on Sunday at Merrywalks in Stroud in the Truck Pull Challenge.

 

Eleven teams competed, cure with The Gym members coming in third place.

 

The world record that each team was attempting to set was the fastest time for pulling an Eddie Stobart lorry for one mile. There were eleven teams taking part in the challenge, cialis each with a 15-strong team.

 

Members from The Gym in Gloucester pulled the truck along the one mile stretch in a time of 13 minutes and 42 seconds; coming in third place out of the 15 teams taking part. The team raised £500 for three charities: Action for Children, search the British Heart Foundation and Fallen Fusiliers.

 

This particular Guinness world record had never been attempted before. The challenge took place between 11am and 4:30pm, with live entertainment.

 

Nathan Furley, Assistant Manager at The Gym on Bristol Road in Gloucester, said the following: “We couldn’t have been prouder of The Gym’s members than on Sunday. It was a tough challenge, but seeing everyone work together like they did was fantastic. We pride ourselves on the close-knit community of our members and it’s charity events like this where their spirit really shines through. We’re going to try again next year and hopefully then we’ll set the record!”
