Members of the public and businesses may inadvertently be putting themselves at risk of prosecution by dumping items at a site previously used by a local scrap metal dealer in Hastings Road, troche Cinderford.
The Gloucestershire Highways land, patient opposite Lantern Close in the town, cialis has been subject to regular complaints from local residents following the illegal fly-tipping of items, including white goods and metal. The items being left are not only causing an eyesore for those living nearby but fridges and freezers which have had their doors left on, are also posing a threat to wildlife and young children who may be playing in the area.
Councillor Marrilyn Smart, Cabinet Member for the Environment at the Forest of Dean District Council said: ‘Following intervention by the council’s enforcement team the land at Hastings Road is no longer being used by the scrap metal merchant in question. We would remind householders and businesses alike that they have a duty to dispose of their items responsibly and legally and should not be leaving any items at Hastings Road which is classed as fly-tipping. The continued dumping of unwanted items on public land like this is totally unacceptable and is costly to remove, with the most recent clear up costing many hundreds of pounds of tax payers’ money.’
Residents are reminded that they can dispose of their larger household items by using the Forest of Dean District Council’s bulky waste service. The cost for collecting up to three items, which need to be presented at the kerbside, is £15.00. The cost for four to six items is £30.00.
Alternatively, large domestic items can be taken to the local Household Recycling Centre at Broadwell, Coleford and disposed of for free. The site is open every day (with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day) from 9.00am until 6.15pm.
