More than £30 million will be invested over the next three years to make thousands of affordable homes across Gloucestershire more energy efficient.
The funding is being delivered by the Gloucestershire Homes and Communities Partnership (GHCP), a group of housing providers that manages more than 35,000 homes across the county.
Planned improvements include solar panels, better insulation and low-carbon heating systems, aimed at reducing both energy bills and carbon emissions for residents.
In the coming financial year alone, partners will invest over £22 million, including funding from Stroud District Council, Two Rivers Housing, Bromford Flagship, Cheltenham Borough Council Housing Services, Gloucester City Homes, and Rooftop Housing Group.
Hayley Selway, Chief Executive of Two Rivers Housing and co-chair of the partnership, said the investment would help save families money while tackling climate change.
The partnership is also working with Gloucestershire County Council to create training opportunities in green energy skills, helping support jobs in areas such as solar panel installation and heat pump fitting.
