Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to a welfare incident in the Forest of Dean earlier.
Gloucestershire Police says it received reports of a person being struck by a train in Westbury-on-Severn.
Crews were stood after down after it emerged nobody had been hit by the train.
Officers confirmed a male was treated by paramedics at the scene and is being given appropriate help.
