Appeal after youths on scrambler bikes spook horse

Officers in Stroud are appealing for witnesses to an anti-social behaviour incident which took place in Wotton-under-Edge last night.

A member of the public was horse-riding in Westridge Woods at around 8/9pm when a group of teenagers entered the area on scrambler bikes.

It’s believed that the group were riding at speed and this spooked the horse who threw the rider off before running away.

Luckily the rider suffered no injuries and the horse returned to its stables.

The group of teenagers are thought to have entered the woodland from the old London Road area.

If you were in the area at the time or witnessed this please call 101 with incident 479 of 11 June.
