Gloucester City Council have been forced to close Castlemeads Footbridge this afternoon.
A council spokesperson said: “Following the recent flooding in the area, we have undertaken a routine inspection of the bridge. We have identified a small area of concern.”
For safety reasons, the city council has taken the decision to temporarily close the bridge ahead of a visit from a structural engineer next week.
The Castlemeads Car Park will remain open but the route into the city is longer.
Residents who have a permit for the car park will be given a free month pass to any other Gloucester City Council car park in the city.
