Gloucestershire County Council has launched engagement on road safety proposals for Cheltenham and nearby areas.
The plans are part of the council’s Safer Roads and Community 20s programme.
They could see 20mph limits introduced on many residential streets, particularly where people live, shop and make local journeys.
The proposals cover Cheltenham as well as Swindon Village, Leckhampton with Warden Hill, Prestbury, Charlton Kings and Up Hatherley.
The council says there have been 790 road casualties in and around Cheltenham over the past five years, with a quarter resulting in death or serious injury.
Residents can comment using an online interactive map and survey until midnight on Friday June 19.
Drop-in events will also be held in Cheltenham High Street on June 3 and Montpellier Gardens on June 10, with an online webinar on June 9.
