A Cheltenham hotel is bringing back its popular gourmet evenings for the first time in three years.

The Greenway Hotel and Spa, in Shurdington, is kicking off its stylish evenings with a Good Friday Fish Supper on April 15, treating guests to a fantastic six-course tasting menu.

Accompanied with a flight of wines, the celebration of fish will be served dinner party style and include courses ranging from gin-cured salmon, grilled squid, to crab bisque.

General Manager Dean Gunston said: “Our gourmet evenings are always a really fun time and a highlight in the culinary calendar.

“We loved putting on a gourmet evening at the hotel once a month prior to the pandemic so it is fantastic we are now able to hold our first one since 2019.

“This Good Friday event only has limited capacity so it is a great chance to come and enjoy an exclusive dining experience from our award-winning restaurant.”

The event sees guests treated to Champagne and canapes on arrival, before being seated at one table within the Panel Room, and tucking into six specially-selected courses with seasonal produce harvested from the hotel’s kitchen garden, cooked by chefs at the hotel’s 3AA Rosette restaurant.

The first begins with a crab bisque with crab tortellini; and is followed by gin-cured salmon, with avocado, pink grapefruit, tonic jelly, and dill.

Next on the menu is grilled-squid salad, grilled courgette, semidried tomatoes, red pepper, roasted aubergine puree, marinated fennel, with dressed roquette.

And following it up is ‘Patrani Macchi’ cod marinated with mint, coconut chutney wrapped in banana leaves and steamed, served with southern Indian style coconut rice.

Diners can also enjoy two desserts: a garden herb sorbet with Greenway rhubarb compote; and a lemon and rose geranium posset, with fresh mango and meringue.

The event is priced at £115 per person, with further details available from www.thegreenwayhotelandspa.com/event/good-friday-fish-supper.
