Gloucestershire County Council has updated proposals under its Safer Roads and Community 20s programme.

The plans cover lower speed limits in parts of Cirencester, Siddington and Preston, along with other road safety measures.

Public engagement earlier this year received 185 survey responses, with views closely divided on the Community 20s proposals.

The council says feedback has led to changes, including extended 20mph and 30mph limits in some areas, extra speed reductions and retaining the existing 40mph limit at the Burford Road and Stow Road crossroads.

The updated plans will now go through the formal Traffic Regulation Order process.

A statutory public consultation is expected in autumn 2026, with delivery planned to begin in early 2027 if approved.
