Cheltenham Borough Council is calling on residents, visitors and local businesses to help shape how the town’s heritage is preserved and celebrated in the years ahead.
A new public questionnaire has been launched to gather views on how Cheltenham can better discover, protect and promote its history, culture and environment.
The council says Cheltenham’s evolving story — from its spa town boom to its modern role as a centre for cyber security — should be shared through the experiences of all communities, past and present. Public feedback will help guide a future Heritage Project for the town.
Cllr Izaac Tailford, cabinet member for economic development, wellbeing, culture and the public realm, said: “Cheltenham’s heritage is what connects our past, present and future and every chapter of our story deserves to be discovered, learned from, celebrated and protected.
“This questionnaire is an opportunity for everyone to help shape how we tell Cheltenham’s story and ensure our heritage continues to inspire future generations. Whether it’s conserving our historic buildings, protecting green spaces or uncovering untold stories from our diverse communities, we want to hear your views on how Cheltenham’s past can guide its future.”
The consultation focuses on four themes: learning and discovery, exploration, celebration, and protection and enhancement of heritage assets.
The questionnaire is open until 11:59pm on Monday 15 December.
