There’s still time for residents to give their views on the Forest of Dean District Council’s draft budget proposals.
The District Council is currently updating its plans for its services for the future and its spending plans for 2015/16. The Council needs to save £2.1 million over the next four years, sales so it is inviting local residents to have their say by completing a survey before the consultation closes on Monday, 19 January 2015.
The proposed four-year strategy takes into account financial risks and other changes which will have an impact on future services. Full details are contained within the Cabinet meeting report of 11 December 2014, available on the District Council website www.fdean.gov.uk.
The Council welcomes feedback from residents and local businesses, which will then be considered by Cabinet on Thursday, 12 February and Full Council on Thursday, 26 February 2015.
Cllr Patrick Molyneux, Leader of the District Council said: “The Council recognises that there are tough times ahead financially and for that reason it is important to seek the views of local residents on how they value our services and the importance they attach to them. This information will help us shape our budget for the next four years.”
“We urge people to complete the survey and let us know their views before the consultation closes on the 19 January 2015.”
Residents or local businesses who wish to comment on the budget strategy can complete the survey on the Council’s websitewww.fdean.gov.uk/go/budgetconsultation
