The team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice hosted an action-packed family fun day by encouraging adrenaline seekers to take on one of Europe’s highest and most challenging high ropes course!
On Saturday 8th June, eager fund raisers and adrenaline seekers alike gathered at 270 Climbing Park in Bentham just outside Gloucester to test themselves on the High Ropes Challenge. The event, organised by Sue Ryder in Leckhampton, Cheltenham offered various aerial activities including an elevated session on the High Ropes, or a gentler adventure on the Low Ropes as well as some thrilling jumps from the tower, with 50% of all Ropes Course sessions tickets and 100% of all Tower Jumps being donated from 270 Climbing to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. In addition to the action up on the ropes course, there was also an assortment of stands around the park, including a teddy tombola, pizza oven, stalls selling home-made cakes, and face painting by local companies. Over £2,500 has been raised so far, which includes £1,650 being made from the ropes and jumps.
Based on Church Road in Cheltenham, Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is Gloucestershire’s only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care. They offer expert treatment and compassionate care to people with life-limiting conditions and bereavement support for families in Gloucestershire and across the UK.

Some parts of the course are pretty tricky, so it was brilliant to see people push themselves out of their comfort zone. Whether people were tackling the course or throwing themselves off the tower, hopefully we provided some memorable experiences! We’re proud that we managed to play a part in raising much-needed funds for such an incredible cause.”
