With the cold winter weather being a worry for older and vulnerable people, recipe Forest Linkline is encouraging residents to stay safe in their homes this Christmas by installing an emergency alarm.
The festive seasonal message from Forest Linkline is intended to provide reassurance and peace of mind, helping residents stay safe and comfortable this winter.
The Forest Linkline alarm service was set up by Forest of Dean District Council nearly 30 years ago and has proved a lifesaver for hundreds of people over the decades.
It continues to provide 24-hour help, security and support at the touch of a button for thousands of local residents every day
Many of those who are currently with the Forest Linkline service often comment on its value and the difference it has made to their lives.
The Forest Linkline alarm pendant is the ideal gift this Christmas if you have a family member who could benefit from some support to stay safe and secure in their own home.
The Forest Linkline equipment comprises an alarm speaker which plugs into an existing telephone line and a personal trigger button worn as a pendant or wrist watch which can be worn around the home and garden.
Alarm calls are monitored round the clock by trained operators at a dedicated response centre, who will contact nominated family members, neighbours or friends if help is needed or summon the emergency services if required.
Forest Linkline charges a £30 installation and setting up fee and the normal rental charge is £3.58 per week, inclusive of VAT. Clients may be exempt from paying VAT dependant on their medical circumstances.
Cllr Terry Hale, Cabinet Member for the Community said: “Accidents and emergencies around the home can happen to anyone at any age. Being able to call for help is so important particularly if you live alone. If you have a Linkline it means that by simply pressing a red button worn around the neck or on the wrist, you can summon help immediately, day or night, without having to speak a word.”
