Wales & West Utilities is upgrading gas pipes in the Longford Lane area of Gloucester.
The company says the work is needed to keep gas supplies safe and reliable for homes and businesses.
As part of the next phase, multi-way traffic lights will remain in place on Longford Lane until July 29.
The traffic management has been agreed with Gloucestershire County Council.
Wales & West Utilities says the work will also help prepare the network to carry greener gases in future.
