Global Radio is set to axe the regional drivetime show on Heart from next month.
The commercial radio station will instead take all programmes from its London studios as part of changes across the Heart and Smooth Radio brands across the UK.
Heart’s regional drivetime show presented by Ben Atkinson will be axed and replaced with a UK wide show originating from London.
The changes will see zero programming originating from Gloucestershire and West Country.
Global said the station will still provide local news, traffic updates and advertising.
In 2019, Heart Gloucestershire merged with three sister stations in Bristol and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and Wiltshire.
Heart Gloucestershire’s studios in Gloucester closed, with operations moving to Bristol.
A Global spokesperson said: “We are indeed making some changes today and we will announce more details in due course.”
