Back in June, prostate local bus operator Stagecoach West reported that they were considering hosting a free-for-all Zumba class at Gloucester Bus Station, in a bid to help commuters and passengers keep active while having fun.
Now the summer holidays are over and the kids are back at school, the first class is scheduled to take place at the Station between 12noon and 2pm on Wednesday 9th September.
Anyone is welcome to turn up, whether they want to watch from the side-lines or get involved in the class. Colleagues from Stagecoach West, Thinktravel and 10 Yetis Digital will be donning colourful workout attire in a bid to get their heart rate up and entice the community to join them, both working out and having fun at the same time.
The Zumba class will be situated at the rear end of the bus parking bays, within Gloucester Bus Station.
Members of the team will also be handing out a limited number of water bottles, t-shirts and sweat bands to those taking part.
Rupert Cox, Managing Director for Stagecoach West, commented: “Whilst we’re aware this may be taking many people out of their comfort zones, it’s just a bit of fun and it’s a great way to get moving and active. People don’t have to take part for the whole time – they can join in and duck out again whenever suits them. Bring the little ones, your best mate or your granny – everyone is welcome!”
